Birth of a League

Every Sunday, Canadians flock to a local Brampton tennis court to play ball hockey – a game that is in their blood, fuels competition, promotes their passion, brings friends together, and reveals their emotions. Dan and Gayle’s sons Allan and Erik modestly started this league which has grown bigger than they ever imagined.

What’s Old, is New

Lifetime BHL members and brothers Adam and Matt Nimmo share their passion for the game and the league. After moving back to the city after ten years, Tej was introduced to the BHL by an old friend. Thanks to Tej, the league now has a trophy to play for!

The First Tournament

There’s a buzz in the air for the first ever BHL Surjit Sahota tournament. Who will take home the trophy?

The Night Life

Unknown to his teammates, Paul was diagnosed with depression – but it is the BHL that helped him get through this very difficult period in his life. The Hughes brothers are putting on a very special music show at the local Irish Centre. But what makes each band so special?

The Second Tournament

Professor Hockey

Being a new parent, Paul’s priorities have shifted from being a hockey player to being a daddy. But those rare Sundays when he can play, he really cherishes those moments. Having recently finished his PhD thesis about immigration, Paul has always wondered why hockey is so important to Canadians.

Chicks and Tattoos

The wives and girlfriends of the BHL are also affected by the league. When they get together they enjoy each other’s company, talk about their dreams, and what they hope will come out of all that time spent with the BHL. BHL members take their love of the game to a whole new level – tattoos!

Old Man Pasic

A part of the league since the beginning, Pasic embraces the league by acting as an ambassador, welcoming everyone. Playing for twenty years, it has taken a toll on his body. But with the third and final BHL tournament around the corner, Pasic is ready to win.

The Final Tournament

A record setting thirty players show up for the last tournament of the season. As usual, the teams are assigned by randomly throwing sticks. Who will make it to the semi-finals?

David VS Goliath

It’s the final game. The winner will not only get the Surjit Sahota Tournament Trophy, but will have bragging rights over every other player in the league. Who will win it all?
